Witness a rally of passionate proportions! Tens of thousands have flooded the streets of Buenos Aires - a sight unseen in months - in the name of Cristina Kirchner, the convicted ex-president. The event, titled "Argentina with Cristina," was led by Kirchner's Peronist party, labor unions, and other non-governmental organizations.

With supporters reaching out from every corner of Argentina, buses helped transport the masses into the city. As they entered, police carried out thorough checks on participants. Some reports claim that a whopping "hundreds of thousands" attended, but this hasn't been confirmed yet. Despite the police keeping mum on the numbers, the turnout was undeniably impressive.

Cristina Kirchner, now 72, roused the crowd with an inspirational audio message over the loudspeakers. "We'll return, wiser, more united, and stronger," she declared. "They might incarcerate me, but they can't cage the entire Argentine people."

Kirchner was found guilty of corruption, harming the state, and sentenced to six years in prison back in December 2022. The Supreme Court ratified the verdict last week, also permanently barring her from holding public office. On Tuesday, another court granted her the privilege of serving her sentence under house arrest, sparing her a prison cell.

Cristina Kirchner presided over Argentina from 2007 to 2015, and her trial revolved around public tenders in the province of Santa Cruz. Dubbing the case politically motivated, she's become the formidable opposition to the ultra-liberal president Javier Milei, who took office in December 2023.

These rallies around Buenos Aires' iconic Plaza de Mayo demonstrate significant public support for Kirchner. Estimates range from over half a million, as claimed by Kirchner's team, to around 160,000, as reported by independent sources, but no matter the precise number, the demonstrations represent resilience and a determination that transcends statistics.
