Multitudes of individuals in Upper Pysma interfaced with the Victory Delegation
Rewritten Article
In the heart of Verkhnyaya Pyshma, a nostalgic wave swept through the town as "The Victory Train" made its annual appearance. This vintage train, running on the Gorkovsko and Sverdlovsk railways, is a celebrated spectacle ahead of May 9th, marking its tenth journey.
Step back in time as you board this train, offering a glimpse into the past. Inside, you'll find three captivating exhibitions – military-medical transport, evacuation of enterprises, and transportation of soldiers and military equipment. The "Memory Wagon" exhibit, housed in a goods carriage, displays evocative images of frontline soldiers.
Each carriage of this special train has been painstakingly restored, having served during and after the war. The open platforms display military equipment, including the legendary T-34 tank and ZIS-3 gun. To honor the 80th anniversary of Victory, railway workers recreated a medical carriage, just like those used in military-medical trains during the war, to evacuate severely wounded soldiers to rear hospitals. Two legendary locomotives – LВ-123 "Lebedyanka" and P-36 "General" – steam their way through the nostalgic journey. The latter stood as a monument for 40 years before being meticulously restored.
The townspeople of Verkhnyaya Pyshma welcomed "The Victory Train" at the Electrolytic Station, where they joined an enlightening guided tour through the carriages and captured memorable moments.
Elena Sycheva reported on this event from Yekaterinburg.
