Multitude of Polling Stations Anticipated for Upcoming National Vote

The countdown to the 13th National Parliamentary Election is well underway, with numerous organizations gearing up to play their part in ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process.

According to the Election Commission (EC), a total of 318 organizations submitted their applications before the 10th of August deadline to observe the electoral process. This number includes 331 local organizations, along with 87 international ones. However, it is important to note that 13 more organizations applied after the deadline, although the exact number of these post-deadline applications is currently unavailable.

In a bid to ensure transparency and accountability, the Election Commission (EC) issued the "Election Observation Guidelines 2025" on the 17th of July. These guidelines provide a framework for the role and responsibilities of observer organizations during the election process.

It is estimated that the 13th National Parliamentary Election will take place at a staggering 45,098 polling centres, a significant increase from the 42,148 centres used during the previous election. These centres will be serviced by a total of 9,31,131 officials, a testament to the scale of the upcoming election.

The election will be conducted at 2,80,564 polling booths, marking a rise from the 2,61,564 booths used during the 12th National Election. The voter turnout for the previous election stood at 11,96,89,289 registered voters, and with the successful completion of the 2025 voter list update, the number of eligible voters is projected to rise to 12,78,73,752.

In a recent meeting held in the capital, the preparation for the 13th National Parliamentary Election was discussed in detail. It was decided that 96 observer organizations that were registered during the previous election have had their registrations cancelled by the Election Commission (EC). This decision was made to ensure that only legitimate and credible organizations are allowed to observe the electoral process.

As the date for the 13th National Parliamentary Election approaches, it is clear that extensive preparations are being made to ensure a smooth and successful election. With the involvement of numerous organizations and a substantial number of polling centres and booths, the election promises to be a significant event in the country's democratic history.

Politics and general news have been revolving around the preparations for the 13th National Parliamentary Election, with the Election Commission (EC) allowing 318 organizations to observe the electoral process, including 331 local and 87 international ones. Despite 13 more organizations applying after the deadline, their exact number remains unclear.
