Alle Farben Unleashed: "It's Teamwork, Not a One-Man Show"

  • *

Alle Farben, a.k.a. Frans Zimmer (39), has been ruling the music industry for over a decade, managing to make a name for himself both nationally and internationally. His recent revelation of a serious accident, however, has left everyone wondering what the future holds for the DJ. In an exclusive interview with Spot on News, Alle Farben opens up about his plans after this tough period, sharing what he wishes for on both professional and personal fronts.

A Decade in the Limelight - How Does that Feel?

Alle Farben: It feels bloody awesome! (laughs) I've been creating music for 21 years, and being successful for 11 of those has been incredible. I'm always grateful for getting bookings, playing at big festivals, working with big artists - and doing it all at such a high level for so long. It's not easy, but it's worth it.

Staying Grounded amid Success

Alle Farben: I've got some solid mates and a kickass crew I work with. They make sure I don't get too carried away when I start believing my own bullshit. (laughs) I've had the same mates for decades, and I'm thankful for that. In the end, I'm just a bloke like any other. You gotta remember that you're no better than anyone else just because you're successful. Everyone has their demons, their struggles. My job may be different, but it's still as normal as being a school teacher or a plumber.

Evolution of Music and the Man

Alle Farben: I'm going through a bit of a musical revival. My latest single, "Flowers," takes me back to my roots - not just in sound, but with the artist I worked with eleven years ago, Graham Candy. That's quite sentimental, man. I've got my trumpeter Lahos with me for nine years now. It's fucking cool to have that kind of camaraderie.

Personal Milestones and Changes

Alle Farben: There've been ups and downs over the years. At the start of my career, I was overwhelmed as hell. It sucks when nobody prepares you for the madness of performing on big stages and having random strangers recognizing you on the street. Now I'm living my dream, and I've learned to do what I wish.

Dealing with Stage Fright and Mishaps

Alle Farben: The excitement's never left me - and I still haven't figured out an effective way to deal with it. (laughs) I know now that I should eat a few hours before a show, but I get nervous. It's part of the job, though. I've made countless mistakes on stage, but it's all part of the game. I've got an incredible team supporting me, making Alle Farben more than a one-man show.

Grappling with Criticism and Comparisons

Alle Farben: Criticism doesn't really faze me, but there was a period when I stayed away from the news and social media. The online world can show its ugly side. I gradually started reading comments again and responding - but not to every Dickhead. (laughs) I don't want to give them a platform. But some news still gets to me.

On Being More Than Just a DJ

Alle Farben: A singer or artist might take the spotlight on stage, but everyone has their time to shine. My job is to entertain, to make music, and when Graham Candy bursts onto the stage, it only makes my show better.

The Favorite Feature and Song

Alle Farben: Graham Candy, man. (laughs) But I gotta say, I've worked with some exceptional artists. However, there's one collaboration I'd still love to make - with Pharrell Williams. The most personal song I've ever made is "Please Tell Rosie" because it succinctly described my life back then. But the one I still can't get enough of is "Bad Ideas." If it comes on anywhere, I crank it up loud.

Frans Zimmer - The Man Behind the Music

Besides music, Alle Farben enjoys cooking and sports. His hobby of cooking has evolved into a cooking channel, which has also seen some success. If it weren't for music, he might well have become a chef.

The Aftermath of the Accident

Alle Farben: My friends, family, and team have been a massive help during this tough time. It's heartening to see so much support from various quarters.

The Approaching Festival Season

Alle Farben: This will be the first festival season after the accident, and I'm looking forward to it more than ever. I can't wait to be back on stage, see the joy on people's faces, and make some good music.

Preparing for the Big Moments

Alle Farben: I've got a solid crew looking after me. My tour manager, for instance, always makes sure I'm well-hydrated. I focus on three essentials - sleep, eat, and go to the loo when I can. That works pretty well. (laughs)

Needing Peace or People before a Performance

Alle Farben: I don't get calm before a performance. I might get a bit quieter, but I'm never serene. There's a energy building up inside me, adrenaline rushing. It's an exhilarating moment.

Future Wishes - On a Personal and Professional Note

Alle Farben: I'd love to perform more in Asia again. It was a regular gig for me before the pandemic, but it's become less frequent since then. I've always been a fan of Asia and its diverse cultures. Privately, not much has changed: I aim to live a good life and keep doing what I'm doing now.
