Reported explosions and raging infernos have shaken the eastern city of Port Sudan, Sudan, on Tuesday, as per Reuters.

The tumult continued unabated in Port Sudan, even encroaching upon the city’s seaport, as the third day of the city’s civil strife brought more intensified fighting into focus. In contrast, other regions, including the Sudanese capital of Khartoum, have faced equally brutal skirmishes.
A thunderous explosion marked the early hours of Tuesday, accompanied by a plume of smoke rising from the port, reported AFP.
Eyewitness testimonies speak of an explosion within a warehouse, and faint sounds of anti-aircraft rifle fire originating from the city's northern edge.
Unexpected freeze on flights at Port Sudan Airport as it was targeted by a drone. An airport official, who chose to stay anonymous, verified that "A drone targeted the civilian area of Port Sudan Airport, and all scheduled flights were canceled," two days after the military base was itself hit by drones.
The power struggle between the Sudanese Armed Forces, led by Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (generally known as Hemedti), ignited on April 15, 2023.
