In a welcome development, Sochi International Airport has resumed normal flight operations following the disruptions caused by drone attacks earlier in August 2025. The airport is now operating without significant delays or cancellations, as evidenced by flights like Aeroflot 2835 to St. Petersburg, which departed on August 15, 2025, as scheduled and on time. S7 Airlines flight 4374 also arrived on August 12 with minimal delay.

The recent drone attacks on August 9 had caused significant disruptions across the Krasnodar Krai region, including Sochi Airport. However, the situation has stabilized since then, with no recent reports of new attacks or resultant flight interruptions.

To ensure the safety of civilian aviation, temporary measures were put in place. These measures included the resumption of registration for flights, pre-flight security screening, and the acceptance and dispatching of aircraft. Prosecutors are also present on the airport grounds to uphold the rights of passengers.

The airport administration, along with airlines, is working diligently to restore regular flight schedules within the next one to two days. A new schedule is being developed for the acceptance and servicing of all aircraft.

International flights, such as flydubai’s route to Dubai, have also continued operations as planned on August 14 and 15. Upcoming Aeroflot flights, like the one on August 17 from Sochi to Moscow Sheremetyevo, are also scheduled normally.

Travelers are advised to monitor updates as the security situation could evolve. It is essential to maintain vigilance and adhere to all safety protocols during this period.
