Multicultural Football Competition
Filderstadt, a vibrant city in Germany, is celebrating its tenth participation in the nationwide "Intercultural Week" which marks its 50th anniversary this year. The city has a packed schedule of events running from September 20th to 28th, showcasing the diversity and inclusivity that defines Filderstadt.
The Intercultural Week action week in Filderstadt is organised by the City of Filderstadt, in collaboration with many cooperation partners such as the city library, clubs, schools, and migrant self-organisations.
The kick-off event takes place on September 20th at 7 pm in the Bonlanden Uhlberghalle. Mayor Christoph Traub will deliver the welcoming words at the event.
On Monday, September 22nd, an exhibition titled "Look at me - Face of a flight" will be opened in the Bonlanden Liebfrauenkirche at 7 pm. The following day, on Tuesday, September 23rd, the Filderstadt working group on asylum will meet from 6 pm to 8 pm.
On Wednesday, September 24th, "Cinema and buffet" will take place at the Filderstadt city library at 7 pm. Registration for this event is required at www.vhs-filderstadt.de.
On Sunday, the Filderstadt museum in Bonlanden will invite people to make friendship bracelets between 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm.
For the younger generation, there's "Creative fun and play adventure" for all schoolchildren in the Sielmingen Pestalozzischule from 4 pm to 6 pm on Monday, September 22nd. On Tuesday, there's a family drumming event in the Aula of the Bernhausen Bruckenackerschule.
On Saturday, September 27th, there will be an inter-cultural football tournament at SV Bonlanden at 10 am. Registration is required at: 0152 / 11 73 55 15. The day also sees a manga day at the Filderstadt city library from 10 am to 2 pm.
Throughout the Intercultural Week and beyond, there will be a clothing exchange in the Filderstadt city library until October 11th during regular opening hours. Up to five items per person can be taken or given away. Shoes and underwear are not desired.
On Thursday, September 25th, there will be a "grill and chill" event at the Uhlberg tower with the meeting point at the hiking parking lot at 4 pm.
Lastly, on Saturday, September 21st, a garden rally will take place in Sielmingen with the meeting point at Seestraße 22 behind the Pestalozzischule.
