MultiCare and Samaritan Health Services Announce Strategic Affiliation

Tacoma-based health system MultiCare has announced a strategic affiliation with Corvallis' Samaritan Health Services. The alliance, expected to be finalized by mid-2026, aims to increase capacity at Samaritan Regional Medical Center and enhance services in the area.

MultiCare, led by Chairman Bill Robertson who also serves as CEO, described the two organizations as closely aligned in mission, vision, and values. The formal agreement is set to be signed in the coming weeks, with no immediate changes anticipated for patients or employees.

The affiliation will bring MultiCare's behavioral health network to Samaritan's service area. Over the next decade, MultiCare plans to invest resources into Samaritan Health Services, helping to modernize facilities, expand primary and specialty care, and introduce new technologies and telehealth capabilities.

While Samaritan Health Services will remain locally governed, the affiliation will provide support from MultiCare. The partnership is expected to strengthen Samaritan's services and better serve the community's healthcare needs.
