Multi-Vehicle Crash Closes Road, Injures Several in Ammersbek
A serious multi-vehicle collision on October 28, 2025, caused significant damage and injuries in Ammersbek. The accident involved a gray Mercedes-Benz sedan and a Renault van on State Road 225, closing the road for about an hour. Two emergency doctors were among the responders, although the police press release did not name them.
The collision resulted in approximately €30,000 in property damage. The Mercedes-Benz driver, a 55-year-old man from Hamburg, initially tried to avoid the crash by braking and veering onto a farm track to perform a U-turn. Despite his efforts, he sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Renault van's driver escaped unharmed, but his two underage passengers were injured and taken to hospitals for evaluation. The accident led to the temporary closure of State Road 225 between Hoisbüttel and Büningstedt.
The cause of the collision is under investigation. The Mercedes-Benz driver's attempt to avoid the crash highlights the importance of safe driving practices. The prompt response of emergency services, including two emergency doctors, ensured the best possible care for those involved.
