Bayern Munich's Tricky Training Session

In the cold morning air, Bayern's elite squad, led by coach Thomas Tuchel, hit the pitch at Säbener Straße for a grueling session. The energy was palpable as Tuchel held an extensive tactical meeting right on the field before diving into team activities.

The drills included three separate groups of players, professional and up-and-coming, all competing with fire and determination. However, among them was a poster boy for overenthusiasm: 18-year-old defender Benedikt Wimmer, a protege for Bayern's U23s team.

In an unfortunate turn of events, during an intense moment on the field, Wimmer's exuberance got the better of him, leading him to inadvertently step on Thomas Müller's (34) foot. The world champion let out a scream of pain, hit the turf, and writhed in discomfort. In a moment of sportsmanship, Wimmer rushed to help Müller back up, and after a brief pause, the World Cup winner limped a bit before continuing the session.

Luckily, the incident did not result in any significant damage, and Müller was able to carry on with the training.

Coach Tuchel also orchestrated special training for another veteran World Champion, Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (37). His coaching staff, headed by Michael Rechner (43), renowned for his innovation-focused training, used a padel tennis racket to fire tiny felt balls at Neuer and the other goalkeepers. They would then have to react swiftly and scramble for the next shot.

The goalkeepers were up for the challenge, demonstrating their quick reflexes and agility with the smaller balls.

New Dawn for De Ligt

There may be a positive turn of events for Dutch powerhouse Matthijs de Ligt (24), as per the latest optimistic comments from Coach Tuchel. As De Ligt recovers from a knee injury, he could potentially return to action before the New Year.

During training on Wednesday, there was a glimmer of hope as De Ligt managed to participate in individual drills, including passing, dribbling, and high-speed sprints. The injury suffered during the cup tie in Saarbrücken has been a setback, but De Ligt's ambitious return before the New Year would be crucial to Bayern's lineup, as the club will have another void to fill coming up with Minjae Kim (27) participating in the Asian Cup.
