Born as Rudolph Arnett Clay on July 18, 1943, Rahaman boxed professionally from 1964 to 1972 with a record of 14 wins, 3 losses, and 1 draw. He was closely connected to his brother Muhammad, often traveling and training with him after retiring and serving as one of Muhammad’s most constant supporters.
Hana Ali, Muhammad Ali’s daughter, wrote an emotional Facebook post about Rahaman, describing him as a "sweet, gentle soul" with a heart as big as the world. In her post, she stated that Rahaman had the same sparkle in his eye, the same light, the same mischief, and the same love as Muhammad Ali.
Rahaman's relationship with Muhammad Ali was a true example of "my brother's keeper." He traveled with Muhammad, helped him train, and stood by him through every high and low. Following Rahaman's passing, tributes poured in from the Ali family. Laila Ali, Muhammad Ali's daughter, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, honoring the deep bond between her father and uncle.
