In the upcoming weeks, Quebec cinemas will be graced with a diverse array of films, each offering a unique blend of themes and genres. Here's a sneak peek at some of the most anticipated releases.

November 7

  • My Stepmother is a Witch, directed by Joëlle Desjardins Paquette, is an initiation tale that seamlessly blends witchcraft and fantasy into a heartwarming blended family story. This family-friendly film, set to premiere on October 10, is the third film of a new generation of family-friendly films, following Coco Ferme and Mlle Bottine.

October 10 - My Stepmother is a Witch also stars Juliette Aubé as Margot, a character who questions whether her new stepmother has cast a spell on her father.

October 18 - The Train, directed by Marie Brassard, is a mystical tale that explores themes of coming-of-age and identity quest. This is Marie Brassard's first feature film as a director and stars Électra Kiara Codina, Larissa Corriveau, Luc Proulx, and Maxim Gaudette. The Train closed the 54th edition of the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma on October 18.

October 24 - The Train is not the only anticipated release. Another film, We Will Be Happy, directed by Léa Pool, opens the 31st edition of CINEMANIA on November 4. However, the release date for We Will Be Happy in cinemas is yet to be specified. This drama, written by Michel Marc Bouchard, delves into the complexities of immigration.

November 14 - For those seeking a film that explores deeper themes of family, grief, and forgiveness, Where Do Souls Go, directed by Brigitte Poupart, is set to hit theatres on November 14.

November 28 - Two films will be released on November 28. The Furies, directed by Christophe Duthuron, is a female-led sports comedy that features a strong cast including Sara Montpetit, Julianne Cote, Monia Chokri, Sylvie Testud, Micheline Lanctot, and Fabiola Nyrva Aladin. - Another film, also titled The Furies, is a completely different genre. Directed by Melanie Charbonneau, this film delves into the world of sports comedy. More details about this film are yet to be announced.
