Tonight, Andrew hosts a special programme dedicated to the world of film music, with a particular focus on the spectacular scores from Christopher Nolan's films and the finest film scores of 2015.
To commemorate the British film director Christopher Nolan's 45th birthday this week, the first hour of the programme will be dedicated to music from his films. Composer Hans Zimmer, who has created the scores for many of Nolan's films, including The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, and Interstellar, will be featured prominently.
The reviewed film scores, all from the year 2015, will include compositions from Nolan's films as well as from other notable films. Far From the Madding Crowd, scored by Craig Armstrong, and Slow West, by Jed Kurzel, will also be included in the showcase.
The late James Horner's score for Southpaw will also be featured, adding a poignant touch to the programme. The showcase will not only include scores from films released in the past but also from a brand new score, The End of the Tour, composed by Danny Elfman.
In the second part of the programme, Andrew will review the finest film scores of 2015, offering insights and analysis on the compositions that have stood out this year. The showcase of the finest film scores of the year so far will feature scores from multiple composers, making for a diverse and engaging listening experience.
