Geoff Barrow, a renowned figure in the experimental rock scene as a member of Beak>, is venturing into a new realm with his debut feature film, Game.

The movie, scheduled for release on cinemas on Friday, 21 November, takes us back to 1993, following the story of an ageing raver who meets an unfortunate accident in the woods. Marc Bessant, a long-time collaborator of Barrow, takes on the role of the protagonist in this intriguing tale.

Bessant's performance, coupled with the direction of John Minton, who has worked with notable artists such as Portishead and Billy Nomates, promises an engaging and immersive experience.

Game is not just another light-hearted film. After the character's discovery by Jason Williamson, the frontman of Sleaford Mods who also appears in the movie, the story takes a slightly eerie turn.

This film marks a significant milestone for Barrow, as it is the first release on his new Invada Films imprint. Prior to this, Barrow has been working closely with Rob Williams, the screenwriter of Game, on various film ideas for the past few years.

The collaboration between Barrow and Williams, along with the involvement of Jason Williamson, promises an exciting blend of music and cinema. Furthermore, the statement indicates a history of collaboration between Barrow, Minton, and Bessant, hinting at a cohesive and well-rounded production.

For those eager to catch a glimpse of Game before its official release, there will be a screening at the Mayhem Film Festival in Nottingham in October. Get ready to immerse yourself in this unique cinematic experience brought to you by the creative minds behind Beak> and more.
