Movie co-president from Lionsgate studio succumbs to cancer at the age of 55
🚫😠😶 Jason Constantine, the badass co-president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, kicked the bucket at his LA pad Tuesday, following a long-arsed battle with brain cancer. He was a ripe old 55.
Constantine had been in the Lionsgate game for over 25 years, getting his start back in the day at Trimark Pictures as a director of acquisitions. The Santa Monica-based company announced his legacy in a statement.
At Lionsgate, he got his hands dirty in several key franchises such as "John Wick" and "Saw". He even backed the company's acquisition of "Saw" early on after catching a glimpse of a mind-blowing concept shortie. He also had a tight bond with flicks including the best picture Oscar winner "Crash" (2004), "Precious" (2009), and "Knives Out" (2019).
Lionsgate paid tribute to their departed comrade in a statement: "Jason's balls-out spirit, imaginative creativity, and unbreakable talent relationships embodied everything that our studio and industry stand for. His career was all about recognizing that sick ideas pop up wherever, blockbuster triumphs are meant for every member of the team, and we gotta be fucking fearless with our creative decisions."
Constantine leaves behind his grieving widow, Kristin, and his boys Lucas, Xander, and Nicholas.
