🏐 Bidding Farewell to Volleyball Titan Tore Aleksandersen 💔

The world of volleyball is currently grappling with a poignant goodbye.

In late 2020, Aleksandersen took charge as coach of the MTV Stuttgart volleyball team. Despite coming close but ultimately falling short in the German championship final series in 2021, he and the squad clinched the double the following year. They even managed to secure a runner-up spot in the CEV Cup finals.

Prior to his battle with cancer in 2023, Aleksandersen bagged his third and final title away from home in the MBS Arena Potsdam in May. Despite his illness, he chose to retire from coaching at the end of the season.

Aurel Irion, the Managing Director, spoke: "Tore Aleksandersen has been instrumental in our club's success and German volleyball in general. His unique personality and unwavering belief in his team led to Allianz MTV Stuttgart's most successful era. We will miss him dearly."

Kim Oszvald-Renkema, the Sports Director, added, "Apart from being a successful coach for Allianz MTV Stuttgart, Tore was an irreplaceable individual who brought infinite energy, inspiration, and joy to everyone around him. Despite his illness, he continued to motivate those around him."

Oszvald-Renkema continued, "The void left by the departure of a top-notch coach and motivational figure like Tore Aleksandersen is immeasurable, and our sorrow is profound."
