Springtime brings new life and love... or so it seems. The latest season of "Farmer Wants a Wife" promises just that, but tragedy has cast a somber shadow over the festivities.

Cologne - As the blooms burst and the snow melts, "Farmer Wants a Wife" is back on our screens for another round of rustic romance. However, the opening episode can't help but feel tinged with sorrow, as a heartfelt tribute brings the mood from cheerful to bittersweet.

Our hostess with the mostest, Inka Bause (56), is once again eager to lend a helping hand to a gaggle of love-lorn farmers. Numbers don't lie, as 16 hopefuls pitch their charms to the audience.

As per usual, the initial episode can be found streaming on RTL+ before it graces our TV screens. After around an hour of heart-warming farm antics, the atmosphere takes a grave turn.

Cutting abruptly to a photo of Inka, we find her seated comfortably on a straw bale heart, beaming at a smiling fellow. Serene music swells, and the inscription "In memory of Brian" appears on-screen. The melancholy aura settles like a veil over the production team and Inka herself, who are united in sorrow.

Lebensborn, Germany, was home to Brian. He faced numerous personal tragedies throughout his life, including the loss of his father in 2008 and his husband in 2016. Since then, the 56-year-old Bause has been enjoying the single life, but she hasn't let that stop her from her matchmaking duties.
