Mourning deepens in Calpe as Sofía and Sahily are honored with solemn moments of silence
In Calpe, on Friday, September 19, a memorial service was held outside the town hall to remember two young girls, Sofía and Sahily, who tragically passed away. The tragic deaths of Sofía, a 20-month-old baby, and Sahily, a 4-year-old girl, occurred on September 14 and September 12, respectively. Ana Sala, the mayor, addressed the crowd and expressed her condolences and remembrance for both victims. She described the deaths as tragic accidents.
Sofía's death was the result of a car accident, as the brakes of the car that struck her failed while it was parked. Sahily, on the other hand, died after accidentally falling from her apartment building.
