Mourinho's Benfica Falls to Chelsea, Real Madrid Thrashes Qairat as Mbappé Scores Five

In the Champions League, José Mourinho's Benfica Lisbon suffered a 0:1 defeat to Chelsea in his return to Stamford Bridge, while Real Madrid secured six points with a 5:0 win over Qairat Almaty. Kylian Mbappé scored five goals in two games, and Inter Milan and Olympique Marseille picked up their first three points.

Benfica Lisbon's return to the Champions League was marred by a 0:1 loss to Chelsea. José Mourinho, who managed Chelsea from 2004 to 2007, saw his current team fail to earn any points.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, secured a convincing 5:0 victory over Qairat Almaty. Kylian Mbappé scored three goals, adding to his tally of two from the previous game against RB Leipzig. This brings his total to five goals in just two Champions League games this season.

Liverpool FC, however, started their campaign with a 0:1 loss to Galatasaray. Both Alisson and Hugo Ekitike were substituted due to injuries.

Tottenham Hotspur drew 2:2 with FK Bodo/Glimt, with former Frankfurt player Jens Petter Hauge scoring twice for the Norwegians. Inter Milan and Olympique Marseille both won their games, securing three points each. Inter Milan leads their group with six points, continuing their strong form from last season.

While José Mourinho's return to Stamford Bridge ended in defeat, Real Madrid's strong start to the Champions League continues. Kylian Mbappé's impressive goal-scoring form is a highlight, and Inter Milan and Olympique Marseille have picked up crucial wins. Liverpool's injury concerns and Tottenham's draw against newcomers FK Bodo/Glimt add intrigue to the early stages of the competition.
