Manchester United are set to face Southampton this weekend, with the team dealing with some absences due to injury. Victor Lindelof, Marcos Rojo, and Matteo Darmian will all miss the game, leaving the defence somewhat depleted.

In more positive news, Marouane Fellaini has been in fine form lately, and his recent performances have earned him praise from manager Jose Mourinho. Fellaini scored a crucial 91st-minute goal against Young Boys in the Champions League, securing United's place in the last 16 of the competition. He also scored a last-gasp equaliser in the EFL Cup loss to Derby County in September.

Mourinho has acknowledged Fellaini's contributions, stating that he is giving the player what he deserves. The manager has also praised Fellaini for delivering in crucial moments, noting that his goals have provided crucial victories for the team. Mourinho, however, was quick to point out that Fellaini is not Diego Maradona, but he has shown that he can step up when it matters most.

With the defence in disarray, it seems that Fellaini's impact against Young Boys and Derby County strengthens his case for a second consecutive start.

Meanwhile, Diogo Dalot is expected to make his Premier League debut for Manchester United. The Portuguese national joined the club from Porto last summer but has struggled with fitness issues since then. Dalot had an important injury and surgery, followed by another injury while playing for the national team. He was almost available to play against Young Boys and Derby County, but his injury prevented him from doing so. However, after two weeks of training, Dalot is now considered ready to play.

Dalot plays as a full-back for Manchester United and is expected to provide much-needed reinforcements to the defence. With the team missing key players, Dalot's debut could not come at a better time.

As the team prepares for the game against Southampton, it remains to be seen how Mourinho will line up his squad. One thing is for certain, though - Fellaini's recent performances have given him a strong claim for a starting spot.

The game between Manchester United and Southampton will take place on Saturday.
