Bachelor Party in the Allgäu Ends in Mountain Rescue Operation - Mountain Rescue Team Battles Adverse Weather, Drunken Partygoers
A complex mountain rescue operation unfolded near Oberstdorf in the Allgäu region, following a bachelor party at a mountain hut. The operation lasted six hours due to adverse weather conditions, with a heavily intoxicated individual requiring urgent medical attention.
The rescue team, comprising three mountain rescuers, including a doctor, and two police officers, faced a challenging situation. They had to treat an unconscious person with a severe head wound and a high blood alcohol level, later confirmed to be impressively high at the hospital. The individual was eventually transported down by cableway.
Dealing with a second affected partygoer proved difficult. Despite being heavily intoxicated, the person initially refused to cooperate and wanted to continue partying. However, the rescue team managed to persuade them to descend into the valley.
The entire operation was prolonged to six hours due to fog, which prevented the use of a helicopter. The rescue team's swift and professional response ensured the safety of both individuals, despite the challenging circumstances.
