Breaking NewsGear up for the 2025 Reframing MTB Conference, coming to Bristol on 7-9 March, co-hosted by Ride Bristol, a local trail group! Tickets are up for grabs until the 21st of February.
A while back, we chatted with Manon Carpenter about last year's Reframing MTB event in Sheffield, where she discussed conference themes and goals to revamp the image of mountain biking in the UK.
Manon Carpenter is one of the masterminds behind Reframing MTB
For the upcoming event, the themes of workshops, speakers, and activities are aligned with:
- Crafting a mountain biking ecosystem that appeals to a broader audience
- Strengthening the mountain biking community
- Advocating for sustainable mountain biking practices
Reframing MTB aims to attract mountain biking enthusiasts of all kinds, especially trail associations, journalists, brand managers, and anyone interested in the sport's future.
A series of talks and workshops are scheduled for Friday
What's the Agenda for the 2025 Reframing MTB Conference in Bristol?
Friday 7 March
The event spans three energetic days, from Friday 7 March to Sunday 9 March. Friday is dedicated to rallying the mountain biking congregation, listening to motivational speakers, and discussing ideas and expertise related to the aforementioned themes.
The conference will be centrally located at M Shed in Bristol, which offers quick access via the railway network and bike storage facilities on site.
Prepare to be inspired by speakers like Andy Davies from Dean Trail Volunteers, Dom Ferris from Trash Free Trails, and others from Gowaan Gals and Limitlass.
Let's hope this event is drier than the last one...
Saturday 8 March
Saturday marks the conference's outreach to the wider public, so everyone's welcome from Saturday onwards. On-bike workshops are scheduled, inviting participants to ride around Ashton Court and brainstorm topics such as inclusivity in mountain biking. Additionally, Ride Bristol will host dig sessions and the UK MTB Trail Alliance will offer a trail training workshop that includes maintenance training needs.
Post-lunch, grab some nachos and join Ride Bristol and the UK MTB Trail Alliance for a session on "community-building for trail associations." Bristol Shredders kids' MTB club will then host a ride with the Trash Free Trails team.
Adults can embark on a Bristol Showcase Ride, exploring the local trails.
Every mountain bike enthusiast in the UK is invited to join the fun
Sunday 9 March
Sunday's events are an added bonus, with rides originating from the Forest of Dean. The UK MTB Trail Alliance will collaborate with the Dean Trail Volunteers and Adaptiv Sports to run an adaptive trails workshop ride.
Subsequently, a ride-and-talk tour of the Forest of Dean centre's trails will be centred on techniques for making trails more accessible for adaptive bike riders.
The event concludes with a social ride through the Forest of Dean.
Buy your tickets now, and expect steep discounts if you're involved with a trail association, informal trail group, or a non-profit bike park.
