Motorcycle manufacturer Keeway introduces the RR 300, a new rival to the TVS Apache 310 RR, for a starting price of INR 1.99 lakh.
The Keeway RR 300, a new addition to the Indian market, is a 292.4 cc fully-faired sportbike that offers an attractive combination of style, performance, and affordability. Priced at ₹1.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the RR 300 undercuts its peers in the small-capacity sportbike segment and other Keeway models.
The RR 300 delivers 27.88 bhp at 8,750 rpm and 25 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm, providing a satisfactory power output for its class. It boasts a TFT instrument display, LED lighting throughout, and a 'Ride Rebel' decal below the tank, giving it a modern and stylish appearance.
The bike is suspended by upside-down (USD) forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear, ensuring a smooth ride. It also features boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, a layered fairing, and a slim, raked tail section. The RR 300 is equipped with disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety.
The RR 300 has a fuel capacity of 12 liters and a kerb weight of 165 kg, offering a balance between agility and touring capability. Compared to the K300 R, the RR 300 is significantly more affordable, making it an appealing choice for sportbike buyers seeking a modern faired design with adequate performance.
The RR 300 comes paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring a slipper clutch, and it uses a bassinet trellis frame. The tyre sizes are 110/70 R17 at the front and 140/60 R17 at the rear. Bookings for the RR 300 are open through Benelli and Keeway dealerships in India, with deliveries expected to begin by the end of July.
In terms of positioning, the RR 300 is the most affordable premium small-capacity sportbike from Keeway, aimed at budget-conscious buyers wanting a fully-faired 300cc machine. Other Keeway models like the K300 R and V302CR target different segments such as naked streetfighter and cruiser, priced higher and often carrying premium features or different ergonomics. Lower displacement models such as the SR125 and SR250 cater to entry-level or commuter segments with significantly lower prices.
In summary, the Keeway RR 300 stands out among Keeway's lineup as an entry-level yet fully equipped 300cc sportbike, with competitive pricing, modern gadgetry, and safety features like dual-channel ABS. It is positioned against other premium small sportbikes and offers a cost-effective option for buyers seeking style and capable performance in this category. In contrast, other Keeway models cater to different segments (commuter, cruiser, streetfighter) with varying features and pricing suited to those priorities.
