Revised Article:

In Russia's Kobaysky District, a shocking case of child abuse was brought to light against a mother of seven. The court documents paint a grim picture of a boy, subjected to such horrific treatment that he ultimately rejected his mom at the trial.

Born as the fifth child, the boy had four older siblings. Over a decade ago, when he was merely a toddler, his mother lost custody of her four elder siblings, and her rights to him were restricted. A year later, she regained custody of her fifth child, but her parenting skills were anything but commendable—her parental rights were revoked once more a year later. Yet, she never ceased her relentless pursuit of custody, this time not for her kids, but for the child support payments. Eventually, in 2018, she obtained custody of her four older children, and in 2023, she regained her fifth child.

In April 2024, a social worker spotted bruises on the boy's body during a visit to the large family. He was immediately removed from the home and placed in a Center for Family and Minors Assistance.

The boy's harrowing account of abuse was unveiled during the trial. Beyond the physical injuries inflicted with her hands, a belt, and assorted objects, his mother degraded and psychologically tortured him. She threatened him with a knife, declaring she'd cut off his fingers. She showered him with urine meant for analysis and wiped his face and clothes using a toilet brush...

Moreover, the boy, who suffered from a chronic illness, required a special diet for survival. His mother, desperate to regain custody, neglected to feed him and offered him food and drink from the toilet instead. He had no assigned sleeping space; he made do with whatever spot he could find.

This inhumane treatment led to severe psychological and physical trauma for the boy. The regular beatings left visible wounds on his body.

The trial against the neglectful mother commenced in April 2025. It emerged that child protective services had delayed filing the lawsuit. For nearly a year, the woman continued to receive child support payments.

She refused to attend the court, apparently too ashamed to face the judge, but agreed to the loss of her parental rights. Her son, present at the hearing, rejected her and stated he did not wish to return home. During his time at the assistance center, her mother visited him only once, and his older siblings paid rare visits.

The woman was convicted under Article 156 of the Russian Criminal Code (neglect of parental duties towards a minor) and fined 30,000 rubles. However, the court's decision is yet to be enforced.

The fate of the other children, especially the younger ones, remains uncertain. Moreover, the court issued a private ruling against the district administration for the guardianship and trusteeship body's delayed response in protecting the rights and interests of the minor left without parental care.
