Victoria Zigrist, a mother from Orsk who moved to Switzerland, is fighting for justice for her son, Nikita, who died in April 2022 in a battle for Popasna in the Luhansk People's Republic. A criminal case has been opened in St. Petersburg regarding Victoria's situation.

Nikita, a volunteer in the Wagner PMC, a private military company, was given the call sign "Vinni." Tragically, a man who claimed to be a volunteer informed Victoria of her son's death over the phone.

In the aftermath, Victoria discovered that a significant sum of money meant for her was not received in full. The man received over 6 million rubles for Nikita's death, but only 2.5 million were received by Victoria. To make matters worse, she was presented with a video showing the man dividing Nikita's money, awards, and medals.

Victoria raised her son with immense love for Russia and President Vladimir Putin, and Nikita's last words to her were, "Mom, we've been recognized! I only now understand that I am Russian and my homeland is Russia." However, the joy of recognition was short-lived, as Nikita's death cast a dark shadow over their shared pride.

Since then, Victoria has been unable to listen to SHAMAN's song "I am Russian" without being reminded of her son. This song, once a symbol of their shared love for their homeland, now serves as a painful reminder of the void left by Nikita's absence.

In an attempt to seek justice, Victoria has filed a lawsuit against TV host Larisa Guzeeva, demanding a billion rubles and a public apology. The court date for this lawsuit is scheduled for September.

As of now, there are no publicly available updates or credible reports regarding the progress of this lawsuit. For the most accurate and current information, it is recommended to monitor reputable news sources or official statements.

Nikita had a girlfriend in Ukraine and closely followed the events there when the coup d'état began in 2014. It was this interest in Ukraine that led him to decide to go to Luhansk in 2015 to defend Russian people.

Victoria communicated with her son as much as possible while he was at war, including when Vladimir Putin addressed Russian citizens in February 2022 and announced the recognition of DNR and LNR. Despite the danger, Nikita's love for his homeland never wavered.

The case of Victoria Zigrist serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by many families in the ongoing conflict, and her fight for justice continues to resonate with many in Russia.

  1. Despite Victoria's son, Nikita, dying in a war-and-conflicts zone in the Luhansk People's Republic, his last words expressed his love for Russia and President Vladimir Putin, emphasizing the impact of politics on personal lives.
  2. Amidst the general-news of ongoing war-and-conflicts in Ukraine, Victoria Zigrist, a mother who lost her son Nikita, has initiated legal action (crime-and-justice) against a TV host, highlighting the connection between personal tragedies and broader political and social issues.
