In the town of Kansk, Kraskoyarsky Kray, a heinous crime took place - a mother brutally killed three out of her four children. It's been determined that this mother has a severe mental illness. The court has decided to keep her under house arrest during the investigation.
This tragedy occurred on April 14. As reported by the SK, while the father was at work, the 29-year-old mother hacked her two sons aged 8 years and 7 months and 4-year-old daughter to death with an axe. Upon returning from school, the 7-year-old son witnessed the horror, but the mother made no move to harm him. Instead, she left with the boy to their grandparents' house and informed them of the tragedy. The bodies of the children were discovered by the grandfather.
For the past three weeks, the mother had been intermittently leaving home without explanation, including at night. She attributed this to simply needing to take a walk to escape fatigue[3]. Since 2019, the suspect has been registered due to her mental illness.
The prosecutor's office explained that her unhealthy behavior had been observed shortly before her pregnancy was saved for medical reasons[3].
Due to her current psychological and emotional condition, it's difficult to question the woman in depth, as she responds to questions with disjointed phrases that sometimes stray off topic. It remains to be seen whether she was fully aware of her actions during the killing, and if she could control them. A forensic psychiatric evaluation will determine this[3].

During the court hearing in the Central District Court of Krasnoyarsk, the woman confessed to the crime and was remanded into custody for two months. She will also receive psychiatric care[4].
