Evelyn Burdecki, formerly known as RTL's Jungle Queen, shared the exciting news with her Instagram followers: she's joining "The Dream Ship" cast, fulfilling a childhood dream! But, alas, Florian Silbereisen is still absent, leaving a piece of perfection unclaimed.
With a jolly "Ahoi from the rumor mill," Burdecki confirms her rumored role: "Attention, attention: Evelyn on board! I'm really on THE dream ship, and no, not as an animator or stowaway, but with role, text, and all the trimmings!"
"It's such an honor" to be part of this iconic series, the 36-year-old beams. In her Instagram stories, cameras from the ZDF cult favorite loom in the background. Her acting debut is "very exciting," the reality format pro declares.
Although Burdecki's stories hint at on-going filming, Bild reports that the Iceland shoot finished several days ago. The early call times and bone-chilling temperatures were no match for her enthusiasm, Burdecki admits. However, the specifics about her character are still under wraps. "That will be a surprise," she tells Bild.
Nostalgic Memories of "The Dream Ship"
For Burdecki, this role is more than just another TV gig. As a child, she regularly watched the ZDF series with her parents. Her 78-year-old mother Teresa, a devout "The Dream Ship" fan since 1981, was moved to tears upon learning her daughter would embark on the vessel: "When she heard that I could play a small role there, she cried with joy."
Reminiscing about the dream voyages that captivated her as a child, Burdecki reveals that, as a family, they could not afford such adventures. Today, traveling has become her passion, a reflections of her long-held affection for "The Dream Ship."
Main actor Florian Silbereisen, portraying Captain Max Parger since 2019, was absent during the Iceland shoot where Burdecki filmed her scenes. Still, she maintains hope for a TV rendezvous: "I've already applied to the crew for a kissing scene. So it's in the works." The episode featuring Burdecki is set to air during the upcoming "The Dream Ship" season. ZDF has yet to release further details on plot or other guest stars.
