This biennial event, hosted by TFA-Germany e.V., sets firefighters up against challenging, real-life emergency scenarios over two days. The competition showcases firefighters' strength, endurance, and teamwork—crowning the fittest, fastest, and most dedicated in the industry.
The action
On June 14–15, the grounds of the Elisabeth-Krankenhaus will be the battleground for four main stations:
- Fire Hose Layout: Up, down, and around—the hose is your lifeline!
- Dummy Drag: With an 80-kilogram dummy in tow, navigate the danger zone!
- Hose Pack Hoist: Let's see those shoulders of steel exit!
- Stair Climb: Conquer the 15 floors in full gear—it's all in the mind over matter!
From individual competitors to mixed teams (staffeln), anyone who's an active firefighter and has completed a breathing apparatus course is welcome to join, providing they pass a mandatory health check.
A family affair
But don't think it's all work and no play! The competition includes various family-friendly activities, including stands for people to check out and a bouncy castle for the little champs! Fun fact: these events help raise funds for the children's clinic of a nearby hospital.

In previous years, world champions like Michal Brousil (Czech Republic) and May Tommervold (Norway) have graced the competition with their presence. And this year, the Czech team is considered a strong contender to bring home the team trophy!
