The Unstoppable Spectacle of Mossad: A History of Stunning Operations Against Iran

Mossad's Most Astonishing Covert Operations Revealed

On a fateful night, Israeli military forces launched an unprecedented attack on Iran, with Mossad intelligence agents reportedly playing a pivotal role. The latest operation adds another spectacular feat to the Mossad's impressive portfolio of operations.

Infiltrating the Enemy's Heart: The Adolf Eichmann Abduction, Argentina 1960

One of the most legendary operations by the Mossad was the abduction of Adolf Eichmann, a notorious German Nazi war criminal, in 1960. The Israeli intelligence agency tracked Eichmann, who was key in the deportation and murder of European Jews, in Argentina and successfully overpowered him on the streets of Buenos Aires. They then flew him secretly to Israel, where he was later executed in 1962.

Phone Call from Doom: The Assassination of Jihia Ajasch, 1996

In January 1996, using a first-of-its-kind maneuver, the Mossad assassinated Hamas military chief and bomb maker Jihia Ajasch by detonating an explosive in his mobile phone. Israeli intelligence expert Ronen Bergman reported that this was the first instance of a communication device being used in an assassination.

A Toxic Trap: The Failed Assassination of Khaled Mashal, Jordan 1997

The Mossad's attempted assassination of Hamas leader Khaled Mashal in 1997 was a significant failure. Israeli agents tried to kill Mashal in the Jordanian capital of Amman by spraying him with a deadly toxin. As King Hussein strongly reacted to the poisoning attempt, both current and then Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu were forced to provide an antidote to save Mashal. The resulting incident prompted Israel to release the spiritual Hamas leader Ahmed Yassin, who was later killed in a targeted Israeli airstrike in 2004.

Eavesdropping Escapades: The Bern Incident, Switzerland 1998

In February 1998, five Mossad agents were caught while attempting to install eavesdropping devices in an apartment building in a suburb of Bern. The incident significantly contributed to the resignation of then-Mossad chief Danny Yatom.

A Deadly Double-Cross: The Dubai Assassination, 2010

In January 2010, Hamas military leader Mahmud al-Mabhuh was killed in his hotel room in Dubai. Israel has never claimed responsibility for the death, although Dubai authorities suspect 27 individuals involved, using forged European passports and allegedly leaving Dubai immediately after the incident.

The Eyes and Ears of Mossad: Iran 2020

In November 2020, Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was fatally shot in Tehran. U.S. government sources pointed to Israeli involvement, but Israel has not publicly acknowledged any part in the death of the head of the research and technological development department in Iran's defense ministry.

The Shadow War 2024

July 2024: Assassination of Hamas Chief Ismail Haniyeh, Tehran

During the inauguration of the new Iranian president, Massoud Peseschkian, Hamas' external chief Ismail Haniyeh was killed in a residence in the north of the capital. Two months later, Israel admitted that the Mossad had killed Haniyeh with a remote-controlled bomb.

September 2024: The Hezbollah Pager Massacre, Lebanon

Thousands of members of the Hezbollah militia in Lebanon were killed in September 2024 when pagers and handheld devices exploded, while more than 3,000 were injured. The devices, produced in Taiwan, were secretly routed through an international network of Mossad front companies to Israel, where Mossad specialists installed small explosives.

Image the Mossad, Israel's foreign intelligence agency, conducting a series of significant and audacious operations inside Iran over the past two decades. The latest operation, which took place in 2025, involved the covert infiltration of central Iran, the establishment of a drone base, and the use of precision-guided weapons and drones to neutralize radar systems and missile silos. This allowed Israeli fighter jets to conduct over 100 coordinated strikes on military and nuclear sites near Tehran, resulting in the deaths of top Iranian generals, scientists, and other key military figures.

The Mossad has also been responsible for the targeted assassination of several Iranian nuclear scientists since 2010 and the destruction of several nuclear sites, as well as the seizure of nuclear documents that provided evidence of Iran's past nuclear weapons activities.

These operations have demonstrated the Mossad's capacity to execute sophisticated, high-impact missions deep inside Iran, often with significant strategic and tactical consequences for Iran's military and nuclear ambitions.

The Commission has also been consulted on the draft directive regarding the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, given the recent covert operations conducted by Mossad in Iran. In the realm of general news, politics, and war-and-conflicts, the latest operation by Mossad in Iran, which took place in 2025, has raised concerns about the future of Middle Eastern politics and the balance of power in the region.
