Omsk Deputies Propose More Cities for "City of Labor Valor" Title
Moscow's Omsk Region to Appeal Putin on the Status of Five Cities
It seems that Omsk's regional deputies are at it again! They're planning to put forward proposals to President Putin to award Kalachinsk, Isilkul, Tuykalinsk, Nazyvaevsk, and Tara the prestigious "City of Labor Valor" (Город трудовой доблести) title.
According to the information we've got, these proposals are undergoing formal procedures within the Omsk regional parliament. They'll soon be up for discussion among committee members in charge of education, science, culture, and youth politics.
You might wonder what "City of Labor Valor" is all about. It was introduced in the Russian Federation in 2020 to honor the extraordinary contributions of workers during the Great Patriotic War (as WWII is known in Russia). Omsk was one of the first 20 cities to receive this title back in July 2020. Close to the street of Lis Chaykina, a monument commemorating this honor was unveiled in the end of 2021.
