Earlier, it was reported that flights from Domodedovo by Aeroflot and S7 Airlines to Tomsk were delayed for 10 hours and a day, respectively, due to attacks by drones on Moscow. Over 300 people were left waiting for their flights in the Tomsk airport. It was also mentioned that a 99-year-old veteran from Tomska, Fedor Bondarenko, was expected to leave for the Victory Day Parade in Moscow in 2025.
"Four World War II veterans from Tomsk, including Fedor Bondarenko, were scheduled to fly to Moscow this morning to be on Red Square during the jubilee Victory Day Parade. Their flights were delayed until evening," Dubrovin said.
He added that beside Bondarenko, Anatoliy Parubin (99 years old), Nadia Zubova (99 years old) and Tatiana Kronceva (103 years old) would also fly to Moscow. Apart from the regional administration, charitable organizations also financially supported the veterans' travel.
According to the airport board's scoreboard, an Aeroflot flight to Moscow is expected to depart at 10:00 PM tonight.
A source confirmed that all four veterans had boarded the evening flight to Moscow.
