In the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, the Ukrainian region of Kharkiv has been a focal point of Russian attacks, with a recent land incursion adding to the escalating tensions. The Ukrainian police reported three fatalities and 13 injuries due to these attacks, which involved bombs and rockets.

Meanwhile, in the eastern region of Donetsk, Russian forces have incorporated four regions, including Donetsk, since their invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. The Ukrainian army is currently engaged in fighting in Kucheriv Yar, a locality that was several kilometers from the front line a few weeks ago.

The Ukrainian military's General Staff acknowledged the advance of Russian troops in Kucheriv Yar, a locality northeast of Pokrovsk in the eastern region of Donetsk. The advance took place along a road, with Russia covering approximately 10 kilometers in one day, according to military analysis website DeepState.

Despite these developments, the UN Secretary-General stated that it would be useful for Kyiv to be present at the Alaska summit between the Presidents of the United States and Russia to discuss the end of the war in Ukraine. However, the meeting will proceed without the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Rumours of a potential Ukrainian provocation plan have surfaced, with the Russian Military Command claiming to have received information about such a plan. The alleged provocation involves a plan by the Ukrainian army to attack with drones and missiles a "densely populated urban area or a hospital with a large number of civilian victims," which would be "documented" by Western journalists and attributed to Russian forces.

However, there is no publicly available evidence supporting these claims, and they have not been reported or corroborated by any reviewed sources. The public record focuses on diplomacy and ongoing conflict issues without mention of such an incident.

Ukraine and the majority of the international community do not recognise Russian sovereignty over the five annexed regions, including Crimea, which Russia had previously annexed in 2014. Zelensky has repeatedly stated that Kyiv will not cede any part of Ukrainian territory to Moscow.

As the conflict continues, both sides remain committed to their positions, with Zelensky stating on social media that Russia was not preparing to "end the war," but for new offensives in Ukraine. The international community continues to watch closely, hoping for a peaceful resolution to this ongoing conflict.

World leaders convene at the general news table to discuss the intensifying Russia-Ukraine conflict, with politics playing a pivotal role in deciding strategies. Despite various talks, reports of war-and-conflicts persist in the war-torn regions such as Donetsk and Kharkiv, causing widespread concern among the international community.
