"'Mortal Kombat 2' Teaser Reveals Karl Urban's Johnny Cage Bringing Brutal Gaming Carnage'

Get ready, fight fans! The highly anticipated sequel to the 2021 hit, "Mortal Kombat," is gearing up for its release on October 24, and it's bringing a host of new faces and familiar ones to the battlefield.

Leading the charge is Martyn Ford as Shao Kahn, the evil emperor of the Outworld dimension. Joining him is Ludi Lin as fireball-launching karate master Liu Kang, and Lewis Tan reprising his role as Cole Young. Fans will also see Jessica McNamee returning as military officer Sonya Blade, and Simon McQuoid returning as the director, having made his directorial debut with the first movie.

The sequel adds several familiar faces to the cast, including Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, a major character and seemingly the star of the sequel, prominently featured in the first trailer. Newcomers Adeline Randolph and Adeline Rudolph join the fray. Randolph takes on the role of Katana, a character tied to Outworld power struggles, while Rudolph plays Kitana, the deadly princess who wields steel fans as her weapon. CJ Bloomfield is Baraka, a fanged fighter with retractable claws, and Tati Gabrielle portrays Jade, Kitana's childhood friend who uses a bo staff. Desmond Chiam portrays Kitana's father, King Jerrod.
