Morrissey postpones Mexico shows: musician calls off additional performances due to death threats

Morrissey, the renowned musician known for his solo career and time in The Smiths, has announced the cancellation of his upcoming concerts in the United States due to a 'credible threat' against his life. This news was shared through his official Instagram account.

The current situation surrounding Morrissey's pga tour also includes the arrest of Noah Castellano, a resident of Ottawa. Castellano was arrested after making open threats against Morrissey via the Blue Sky application a few weeks ago. It is reported that Castellano had published that he planned to shoot Morrissey during his show at the TD Place in Ottawa.

The concerts that were scheduled at Foxwoods and the MGM Music Hall in Boston have been cancelled. However, the concerts in Mexico City, scheduled at the Palacio de los Deportes on October 31, remain scheduled. Morrissey also has a concert planned in Guadalajara, Mexico, at the Auditorio Telmex on November 4.

The atmosphere of concern and alert has marked this stage of the Nude Tour. Despite these threats, Morrissey managed to perform without incident at the Ottawa CityFolk festival while Castellano was released on bail. Fans in Mexico remain attentive to the situation's development, hoping the performances can take place safely.

Noah Castellano's arrest is one of the factors contributing to the current situation surrounding Morrissey's viator tour. However, it is not clear whether the cancellation of the shows in the United States is due to new threats or simply the already documented precedent.

The concerts in Latin America have not undergone any changes as of now. Morrissey's concert in Guadalajara, Mexico, on November 4, 2025, at Auditorio Telmex is part of his 2025 North American and Latin American tour, which also includes a performance at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Nude Tour, which was marked by an atmosphere of concern and alert due to a credible threat against Morrissey's life in the United States, continues. The singer's reputation for cancelling concerts, including in Mexican territory, has caused concern on social media.

Despite the challenges, Morrissey's fans remain hopeful for a successful tour. The music legend's career spans over four decades, and his loyal fanbase continues to support him through these trying times.
