Morocco Makes History: First African Nation in 14 Years to Win Under-20 World Cup

Morocco has made history, becoming the first African nation in 14 years to win the Under-20 World Cup. The young Atlas Lions defeated Argentina 2-0 in the final, with Yassir Zabrini scoring both goals. Coach Mohamed Ouahbi led the triumphant team.

Morocco's journey to victory began with topping its group. It then overcame South Korea, the United States, and France in the knockout stages, each time demonstrating its prowess.

The final saw Yassir Zabrini strike twice in quick succession, in the 12th and 29th minutes, securing Morocco's victory. Despite missing key players Claudio Echeverri and Franco Mastantuono, Argentina put up a strong fight, aiming for its seventh title. However, it suffered its first loss in the tournament, allowing Morocco to clinch the trophy.

Morocco's Under-20 team has achieved a remarkable feat, winning the World Cup for the first time since Ghana in 2009. Coach Mohamed Ouahbi's strategic leadership and Yassir Zabrini's exceptional performance were instrumental in securing the victory. The young Atlas Lions have made Africa proud.
