Morning Meeting with Zelensky - Morning Meeting with Zelensky

During the 2025 G8 Leaders' Summit in the picturesque Canadian town of Kananaskis, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy joined the likes of Canada, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Japan, and France for a hearty working breakfast. Unfortunately, Russia wasn't on the guest list. The reason? Let's just say they've got some beef going on—Ukraine beef.

But there were no runny eggs or burnt toast at this salon; it was a serious sit-down to discuss issues of utmost importance. We're talking military support, humanitarian aid, and the ongoing feud with Russia.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney invited Zelenskyy, hyping up his nation's commitment to Ukraine, featuring a whopping $2 billion aid package, sourced from none other than Russia's frozen assets. So it's a giant middle finger to Putin-land.

Zelenskyy appreciatively responded while expressing the dire need for stronger sanctions against Russia and continued military help. After all, he shared the toll the recent attacks have taken on the everyday Ukrainians; you know, the ones who have lost homes, jobs, and loved ones to this freakin' war.

The G7 crew looked to strategize on military and financial aid, aimed at equipping Ukraine's forces while piling on new sanctions against Russia. They even vowed to stand together, united as democracies striving to support Ukraine's defense and sovereignty.

On the Trump card, he chose not to partake in the breakfast, scramming early due to a flare-up in another region. That meant fewer selfies but oh well, the breakfast still went off without a hitch.

Russia's presence was, sadly, felt but not seen. Their exclusion from the G8 was due to their frosty relations with Ukraine and international sanctions—swanky parties should only be for the good guys, don't you think?

In essence, this G8 Leaders' Summit working breakfast was a sincere effort by Canada, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Japan, and France to strengthen their support for Ukraine in response to Russia's boots being a tad too big. They pledged to commit more funds, sanctions, and solidarity until peace could kiss this ugliness goodbye.
