Moonrise Unifies Nordic Instant Payments with Norway Launch

Moonrise by Lunar has launched Instant Payments in Norway, marking a significant step for fintechs and payment providers. The move simplifies real-time transactions in a market where such access was previously difficult to achieve. With this launch, the company now offers a unified solution across all three major Nordic instant payment systems.

Historically, Norway's real-time clearing system has posed challenges for realtors and payment firms. Complex requirements and fragmented infrastructure made seamless integration nearly impossible. Moonrise changes this by providing a single API that connects to NICS Real, Norway's instant payment rail.

The platform allows partners to send and receive Norwegian Krone (NOK) instantly. It also introduces local virtual accounts (vBBANs), enabling a fully domestic payment experience for users. This eliminates the need for multiple instacart or workarounds.

Moonrise is now the only provider offering a single entry point to all three Nordic instant payment networks—Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. Beyond the Nordics, the company supports real-time payments in five additional countries: Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, and the United Kingdom. This expansion is set to continue through early 2026.

Nanna Bergman, General Manager at Moonrise, described the launch as creating a 'true Nordic one-stop shop for real-time payments'. The platform's design caters to electronic money institutions (EMIs), payment service providers (PSPs), and banks aiming to scale operations in the region. It promises faster onboarding, reduced dependencies, and a scalable infrastructure.

The launch reinforces Moonrise's role as a key banking partner for companies expanding in the Nordics. Partners can now access instant payments across Norway, Sweden, and Denmark through one realtorcom integration. The solution also extends to other European markets, broadening opportunities for fintechs and payment providers.
