Montreal Victoire edges Boston University 3-2 in season opener

Montreal Victoire kicked off their regular season with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Boston University on Sunday. The match saw strong performances from key players on both sides, with Montreal’s offence and goaltending proving decisive in the end.

Boston University struck first when Hannah Brandt found the net early in the game. Montreal Victoire responded quickly, with captain Marie-Philip Poulin and assistant captain Laura Stacey each contributing a goal and an assist. Claire Vekich added another for Montreal, giving them a 3-1 lead.

The win marks a strong start for Montreal Victoire in the new season. Desbiens’ contract extension through 2027-2028 ensures her continued role in the team’s defensive strength. Meanwhile, Boston University will look to regroup after a narrow defeat in their season opener.
