Monthly Update: Highlights and Insights Straight from Our Team
Here's an alternative take on the newsletter conversion:
Wanna mix things up a bit?
Instead of the traditional newsletter style, I'm thinking about giving a blog post format a whirl for the sake of the experiment! It should be a fun, relaxed vibe to keep things interesting around here. So let's dive in!
March 23rd is gonna be lit, folks! The Enchanted Crown by Bethany Atazadeh—the fourth installment in The Stolen Kingdom series—is coming your way! I happen to be in the lucky position of receiving an ARC (advanced reader copy) to review, and let me tell you, it's one heck of an adventure. I finished it last night, and I promise you, my full series review will blow your minds once it drops post-release!
Before you get too hype about The Enchanted Crown, you might wanna check out the first book in the series, The Stolen Kingdom, for free on the Kindle app until March 5th. These YA fantasy books are inspired by tales like Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast. If they tickle your fancy, don't sleep on these lovelies!
On another note, I wrapped up my first draft of Demon Fall, my post-apocalyptic demon hunter novel, back in July 2020. I've been working on clean-up revisions and alpha reading, learning plenty from feedback and making the necessary adjustments. I'm shooting to complete the clean-up revisions for my alpha readers by the end of March, and then I can start assembling a developmental revision plan to revamp the story. I can't freakin' wait to see where Demon Fall goes next!
In more bookish news, I've taken on some reviewing gigs with Reedsy.com, and I gotta admit, I prefer their five-star ranking system to my own! I think I'll be adopting this ranking system, as it's widely used in the book review community.
Have I mentioned the Chaos Walking series by Patrick Ness yet? I've been reading and planning to review it forever, but life had different plans for me last year. I'm still gonna share my thoughts about this badass series, but be prepared for a late review!
On the horizon, I have my eyes on Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim and The Brass Queen by Elizabeth Chatsworth. I'm thrilled to dive into their Asian-influenced stories and share my perspectives with you guys soon! Oh, and don't forget about Aiya Seven by M. Ryan Taylor and The Bowling Ball Bombing by Kordel Lentine, both with reviews coming your way from this very blog post.
Don't forget to follow me on Instagram if you haven't yet! I'll be announcing my upcoming projects and reviews there soon. For now, let's keep the book chat rolling, shall we?
In the fun, blog post format, we'll discuss more than just books. Expect insights on fashion-and-beauty trends, lifestyle tips, food-and-drink recommendations, and explorations of pop-culture and entertainment.
As for the enchanting world of literature, there's plenty to explore. For instance, if you haven't dived into the series The Stolen Kingdom, with its fairy tale influences like Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast, I suggest you check out the free Kindle app before March 5th.
Our lives outside the books don't go unnoticed either. For instance, I've finally wrapped up my first draft of Demon Fall, a post-apocalyptic demon hunter novel, and I can't wait to share updates on the clean-up revisions and subsequent developmental plans.
