Saying Goodbye to the Silver Screen: Sky du Mont Bids Farewell to Acting
Mont, Sky du, announces his retirement from profession.
After five decades spent on film sets (and quite a few nights in trailers), actor Sky du Mont is hanging up his acting shoes. At 76, he's made the tough decision to retire. But before he waves goodbye to Hollywood, he'll make one final appearance in "The Canoe of Manitu," the sequel to the cult film "The Shoe of Manitu."
Sky du Mont has been synonymous with German television and cinema, boasting an exceptional career. Yet, after a lifetime spent on film sets, he's ready to call it quits.
"Fifty-five years in a trailer? Enough's enough. I've had my fill of acting, I don't fancy waiting for hours in the middle of nowhere, using a portable toilet, just to hear someone say, 'Mr. du Mont, your turn's up now, the lights are almost out!' That's it for me," du Mont told "Radio Arabella Munich" in a candid interview.
One Last Stand
Du Mont declared that he will "never step in front of a camera again." Despite being presented with intriguing new role offers, he's standing firm on his decision. "I've declined and said, 'No, that's it!'"
Forever a Star
Though he's retiring from acting, du Mont won't be disappearing from our screens entirely. He intends to continue his work as a dubbing artist for international stars and continue producing commercials. Additionally, he plans to carry on as a book author, pursuits that bring him joy and fulfillment.
