Monster Hunter Wilds' final expansion teased as anniversary event kicks off next week

Capcom has announced a major expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds, marking the game's final large-scale update. The reveal will take place in summer 2026, though no exact release date has been confirmed. Fans can also look forward to a month-long anniversary event starting next week.

The first anniversary celebration for Monster Hunter Wilds begins on February 18 and runs until March 19. During this period, every past seasonal event and Festival of Accord will return on a weekly rotation. A special tie-in quest with Monster Hunter Stories 3 will also be available.

A new 10-star difficulty level will debut, featuring four returning Arch-tempered monsters alongside the new Arch-tempered Arkveld. Players who complete these quests will earn Timeworn Charms, which boost the odds of obtaining rare talismans.

The upcoming expansion, compared in scale to Iceborne and Sunbreak, will be the game's last major content update. While details remain scarce, Capcom has promised more information this summer.

The anniversary event offers players a chance to revisit old challenges and earn exclusive rewards. With the expansion's reveal still months away, the 10-star quests and returning events provide fresh content in the meantime. The update will close out Monster Hunter Wilds as a standalone title.
