🗣️ US Prez Talks Greenland
You couldn't make this shit up. Trump's back at it again. Over the weekend, the US Prez took another swipe at Denmark, asserting his desire to take control of Greenland. Look, we know Greenland's not for sale, and it never will be. But, remember, the legendary Egede, Greenland's leader, said exactly the same thing when Trump first popped off. This time, Trump claims those 55,000 Greenlanders want to be with us. Mate, they've got dogsleds, not drones!
🇩🇰 Dog Sleds vs. Drones
Looks like Trump's referring to the spending bundle dumped by the Danish Defence Ministry back in December. The package included two new dog-sled teams for the Sirius Patrol, dog-sled soldiers based on the island forever, two new enforcers, two drones with long-range punk, and a whole lot of coin for the Greenlandic Forces[1]. Not exactly what we'd call military might, but it's a start.
🗣️ Freddy Speaks
When asked to respond to Trump's babble, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen played it cool. She said Denmark's been a good ally, and the intention is to keep it that way. Frederiksen tipped her cap to Danish soldiers who've given their lives fighting alongside American forces during wars, with Afghanistan being the most prominent example[2]. Trump's latest bullcrap doesn't change Denmark's stance; Freddy's clear, Greenland's future can only be decided by the people of Greenland. It's a decent retort, right?
🍽️ Danish Chef Gearing Up
Ever the entertainer, Sebastian Holberg Svendsgaard's gearing up for his big moment! This 25-year-old chef's got tattooed arms and a drive to win gold at the Bocuse d'Or, the fantastic feast-fight of gastronomy's world championship[3]. With a motto like "Now it's my time to shine," which he shared with AFP, we think he's got what it takes to take home the top prize. Raised in a sleepy town southwest of Copenhagen, young Sebastian was often bored at school, but he found his passion for culinary arts[3]. Denmarks got some serious cooking chops – they've taken home three Bocuse d'Or victories, trailing only France and Norway[3]. This year, the competition's theme is "gastronomic heritage".
🌦️ Dankish Weather Forecast
Looks like rain's gonna ruin Denmark's parade for the next week or so. Meteorologist Erik Hansen told Ritzau this morning that the country will be caught in a succession of rainstorms before the week's out, with the possibility of snow in the north[4]. So, ladies and gents, hold onto your umbrellas and keep on truckin', and remember to check back with us for all the latest news from Denmark!
Bonus Facts:
🇩🇰 Trump Spying on Greenland's Independence MovementThose U.S. spies at it again! Word on the street is they've been sniffing around Greenland's independence movement and sentiments towards U.S. resource extraction[1]. If that's not a sign of disrespect, we don't know what is!
🇩🇰 "You Cannot Spy Against an Ally"When questioned about the alleged U.S. espionage activities, Danish PM Mette Frederiksen fired back, saying, "You cannot spy against an ally." Ouch, that hurts, doesn't it, CIA?

- Despite the ongoing talk about Greenland's potential alliance with the US, it's worth considering the recent investiture of funds by the Danish Defense Ministry for their Sirius Patrol, which includes dog-sled teams and drones, indicating a focus on traditional, rather than modern, military strategies.
- As the Bocuse d’Or, the prestigious gastronomy world championship, approaches, renowned Danish chef Sebastian Holberg Svendsgaard is gearing up to showcase his country's comfort with the contemporary, with his motto "Now it's my time to shine" and a passion for culinary arts nurtured from an early age.
- Beyond the usual political news and weather reports, it is also noteworthy that the US is alleged to have been spying on Greenland's independence movement and sentiments towards US resource extraction, sparking concerns over disrespectful activities between allies.
