Monday Night Football expands its broadcast team with the addition of a second sideline reporter.
In an exciting development for football fans, ESPN has announced changes to its Monday Night Football (MNF) broadcast teams for the 2025 season. The network is adding a second voice to its MNF broadcast teams, enhancing coverage breadth and depth.
Longtime MNF reporter Lisa Salters continues as the longest-serving sideline reporter for MNF. She will be joined by Laura Rutledge, who has been elevated to join Salters on the main MNF crew for all 20 games featuring Joe Buck and Troy Aikman in the booth.
Laura Rutledge, previously known for hosting "NFL Live" and "SEC Nation," has also signed an extension with ESPN and will continue in these roles.
The second MNF broadcast team will consist of Katie George and Peter Schrager. Both are familiar faces in the sports broadcasting world, with George being a top ESPN and ABC college football sideline reporter, and Schrager, previously a sideline reporter with Fox and NFL Network. They will join Chris Fowler, Dan Orlovsky, and Louis Riddick on weeks when there are two MNF games or a special Week 18 doubleheader, contributing to five games in total.
The first game of the MNF season is set for Sept. 8, featuring the Minnesota Vikings and the Bears. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Houston Texans will play the early game on Sept. 15, with the Los Angeles Chargers and the Las Vegas Raiders playing the later game on the same day.
ESPN has also extended the contract for Lisa Salters, who has been with ESPN and ABC since 2000. The network will host Super Bowl LXI on Feb. 14, 2027.
With these changes, football fans can look forward to enhanced coverage and analysis during the 2025 MNF season.
