Mönchengladbach Police Clash With Borussia Fans Over Offensive Banners
A tense situation unfolded in Mönchengladbach on the evening of August 24, 19, when a confrontation between police and Borussia fans escalated due to offensive banners displayed during a match against Leipzig. This is the second such incident in the city, following a similar clash last year.

Last year, a similar incident took place after a match against RB Leipzig at the Borussia Park. On that occasion, 1.FC Köln fans attacked Borussia supporters returning from an away match against Mainz on the Gatherweg parking lot and surrounding area. The names of those involved in both incidents have not been made public.
Following the latest incident, the Mönchengladbach police chief issued a statement, appealing to the public for information. They are seeking anyone who may have witnessed the brawl or has video footage to come forward and help clarify the situation.
The police are treating this incident seriously and are committed to maintaining public order. They urge anyone with information to contact them, as they continue to investigate the events that unfolded on August 24, 19.
