Blechhammer am See Shooting Society Celebrates Successful 2014 Club Year
The Bodenwöhr shooting society Blechhammer am See concluded the 2014 club year with a pre-Christmas celebration and annual general meeting at Gasthof Lutter. The event was a fitting culmination of a year filled with achievements in marksmanship and community events.
The annual general meeting was combined with the Christmas celebration, as it had been cancelled earlier in the year due to lack of participation. Detailed reports were given by shooting leader Nico Winderl and treasurer Dieter Kirschner, providing an overview of the society's activities and accomplishments throughout the year.
One of the highlights of the year was the king's competition, where Ferdinand Riegelsberger emerged victorious with a remarkable 43-teaser. Riegelsberger's win earned him the prestigious title of Marksman King, symbolizing marksmanship excellence and leadership within the society. Michael Efferz followed closely behind with a 49-teaser, securing the second place title.
The annual cup competition saw even more impressive results. Riegelsberger once again shone, scoring an impressive 89-teaser. Nico Winderl took the top spot with a 42-teaser, winning the annual cup. Jerzy Wotzka won the air pistol, shooting class category, while Nico Winderl won the air rifle, shooting class category. Johann Schwarz won the air rifle, prone, seniors category.
The best results of the entire shooting year in the air rifle and air pistol competitions were valued together for the annual cup. The competition brings together shooters from the local region, with members from Blechhammer am See often taking top honors. Winning the annual cup is a significant achievement that reflects consistent skill and teamwork.
Beyond competitive wins, the society has played an important role in preserving shooting traditions and fostering camaraderie in the Bodenwöhr community. Their events and ceremonies are key cultural highlights annually. Long-standing members Renate Mutschka, Bruno Grün (40 years), Monika Ebneth, Andreas Seltl, Johann Lotter (35 years), Josef Stangl (30 years), and Mariele Sinzger (15 years) were honored for their membership.
The society has proudly crowned several Marksmen Kings over the years. These individuals achieved the highest scores in annual shooting competitions, earning the prestigious King’s title—an honor that symbolizes marksmanship excellence and leadership within the society. In November, Johann Schwarz won the king's title in the shootout.
Many memories and beautiful anecdotes from the club's 100th anniversary jubilee shooting were refreshed during a film screening. A film from 1973 was shown, commemorating the club's 100th anniversary celebration. Shooting master Nico Winderl conveyed the wishes of first shooting master Michael Huber, who was unable to attend due to illness.
As the year comes to a close, the society looks forward to continuing its rich tradition of marksmanship and community involvement in the coming year. For those interested in detailed records, specific names of past King’s title winners or annual cup champions, local archives, or the society’s own historical publications are often the best sources to consult. Many of these societies maintain detailed registries of their competition results and honored members.
Other sports were not mentioned during the celebration of Blechhammer am See Shooting Society's successful 2014 club year. Despite its focus on marksmanship, the society values camaraderie and is open to embracing new sports and activities within the Bodenwöhr community.
