Mohammad Mokayev evaluates Aleshandri Pantoji's potential against Merab Dvalishvili in an upcoming mixed martial arts contest.
Title Defense
The reigning UFC lightweight champion, Alexander Pantijão, has managed to protect his title a whopping three times. However, his ex-training partner, Muhammad Mokaev, believes he shouldn't switch to the bantamweight division for a possible duel against Merab Dvalishvili. Mokaev shared his sentiments in an MMA Fighting interview, stating,
"Size ain't on Pantoj's side in this fight. I'm not even sure I could handle Merab myself. He's a beast, even for his own division. Pantoj should stick around at 125 pounds and create his legacy."
Mokaev, who has maintained an unbeaten record, is gearing up to make his comeback to the UFC through showcasing his dominance in other leagues. Initially slated to face Aliшер Габдуллин at 971 FC on June 14, the Kazakhstani had to withdraw from the fight. As a result, Muhammad will now face the Brazilian, Thomas Assis, in his upcoming bout.

Bookmakers might favor Mokaev in his upcoming bout due to his unbeaten record and recent dominance in other leagues. Despite Pantijão's success in the lightweight division, some might argue that his future clashes could be more fruitful in the sports of MMA, specifically in the sports of bantamweight.
