Moerser SC Kicks Off 2022 Season with New Signings and Cautious Optimism

The Moerser SC is gearing up for the 2022 season in the 2nd Volleyball Bundesliga, aiming to establish a strong presence and focus on growth and stability.

The team, which is returning to the league after a hiatus, has made some significant changes to its roster. One of the most notable additions is Martin Djordjevic, a newcomer who has joined the squad following a reduction in the foreigner quota per first division team in Hungary. Djordjevic, a versatile player, is expected to bring fresh energy and skills to the team, potentially bolstering their offensive and defensive capabilities.

Setter Fabio Bertea, of Argentine roots, is another new face at the Moerser SC. However, Bertea will join the team later due to a social year in the hospital without much free time until August 16. A medical studies place near Moerser has been found for Bertea, ensuring his continued involvement with the team.

The Moerser SC has also signed setter Nico Haug from TV Rottenburg and Ukrainian outside/receiver Maksym Vandzhura. Meanwhile, Lukas Lübke, Timo Moysig, and setter Fredrik Schmidt are no longer part of the squad, with experienced middle blocker Jan Lenkeit reducing his activity and only training selectively.

The preseason tests for the Moerser SC will begin on August 18 against Regionalliga newcomers TB Osterfeld in Oberhausen. The team will then face 3rd division newcomers TVA Hürth in the southern part of Cologne on August 21 for their second preseason test. The season opener at the Enni-Sportpark Rheinkamp will be held on Friday, August 29, against Dutch former champions SV Dynamo Apeldoorn.

The home opener against Aligse, scheduled for September 13, promises to be an exciting match. Volleys Aligse have signed setter Benedikt Gerken and middle blocker Franz Hüther from VC Bitterfeld-Wolfen, making the match a potential challenge for the Moerser SC.

Coach Hendrik Rieskamp is optimistic about the team's chances, viewing the addition of Martin Djordjevic as a good catch for the Moerser SC. The team hopes to welcome more than 1000 spectators to the Enni-Sportpark for the first time in a long time in their home opener against Aligse.

With these new signings and a strong preseason schedule, the Moerser SC is ready to tackle the 2022 season with cautious optimism and clear goals for growth and stability. The team's ambition is to enhance competitiveness, aim for playoff contention, and foster a strong team identity in the 2nd Bundesliga.

The Moerser SC's roster boost has a new addition, Martin Djordjevic, who has joined the team from Hungary and could significantly bolster the team's offensive and defensive capabilities in the sports arena.

In the upcoming season, the Moerser SC intends to make progress and solidify their sports standing, aiming to build a competitive team identity in the 2nd Volleyball Bundesliga.
