A bittersweet day as we bid adieu to the inimitable Carlo von Tiedemann (1943-2025). This remarkable man, known for his charm and charisma, breathed his last on June 8, in Hamburg, at the age of 81. The North German Broadcasting (NDR), where he spent a substantial part of his life, confirmed the news.

What a life he led! From 1971, he was the pulse of NDR, appearing both on radio and television. According to Joachim Knuth (66), who heads the broadcasting institution, "If anyone deserves the title 'NDR veteran,' it's our dear Carlo." He was a One-of-a-kind, captivating countless generations and holding a special place in the hearts of NDR's viewers until his last breath.

It's tough to express the void that Carlo's departure has left among us. He was more than just a host; he was a lively presence, full of spark and warmth, who made every show special. Joachim Knuth still can't believe it: "Losing Carlo is a significant loss for us at NDR."

Carlo started his journey with NDR radio in 1971, and it was there he found his calling. He hosted "Die aktuelle Schaubude," a popular radio show, not once but twice - 1976 and 1997. Other notable shows under his belt include the "NDR Quizshow," "Carlos Koch-Chaos," and "Carlo and Wigald on Tour." In addition, he lent his memorable voice to several TV shows like "Großstadtrevier," "Stubbe - Von Fall zu Fall," and the "Tatort."

No doubt, Carlo von Tiedemann left his mark on the vast world of radio and TV. He was a staple in the media industry of Northern Germany for over 50 years!
