A Nostalgic Trip Down Memory Lane
Heidi Klum Makes Her Choice: The Finalists for Germany's Next Topmodel Revealed - Models Heidi Klum selected for Germany's Next Top Model Grand Finale
The models reminisce about their journey so far, revisiting the videos they submitted for the 20th season of GNTM. Some touching tales unfold - Jannik recalls being taunted by his schoolmates for his love of hip-hop dancing, Magdalena shares her heart-wrenching experience of school bullying, and Canel reveals the tragic loss of her drug-addicted father at the tender age of 19.
With the memories fresh in their minds, the models anxiously await their final photoshoot of the season, themed "Roadmovie." The legendary editor-in-chief of Harper's Bazaar, Kerstin Schneider, makes a special appearance to help judge the models' performance in front of the camera, alongside Heidi Klum. The models are tasked with casually posing in designer clothes against a vintage blue car.
Moritz takes the first shot, impressing Heidi Klum with his natural charisma. "This kid's got it - runway, campaigns, you name it," Klum raves, speaking of her excitement for his potential. Jannik and Pierre also receive rave reviews for their captivating performances. "I don't know what to say - I'm flabbergasted," Schneider enthuses about Pierre. Zoe and Magdalena hold their own amongst the women, even though Magdalena struggled somewhat when the rain started pouring down. Canel, on the other hand, struggled with finding the perfect poses. "She's about to tumble out of that car," Klum observes. Eliob is condemned for lacking expressiveness in his shots, and Daniela is criticized for her uncontrollable hand movements.
The Shopping Queendom
GNTM transforms into a shopping extravaganza on the Guido Maria Kretschmer show, with the models receiving a 500 euro budget to dress themselves in pairs. Heidi Klum hands out a budget of 1500 dollars and sends the models on a shopping spree, with a two-hour time limit to pick two outfits for both day and evening wear. Canel relishes the opportunity, describing the sensation as "feeling like a rich diva". Pierre, however, is not as thrilled, confessing that he dislikes shopping trips. In the store, Pierre becomes overwhelmed, unable to find clothes that fit him and unsure about the outfits he desires to create. Eliob, on the other hand, selects too many items, realizing at the checkout that his funds won't suffice. He is forced to return a shirt and shoes to make up the difference.
The Guest Juror
The winner of GNTM can look forward to gracing the cover of a prestigious magazine, as Harper's Bazaar has been the long-standing partner for show cover features. In 2024, Jermaine Kokou Kothe became the first winner to be featured on Harper's Bazaar's cover. Kerstin Schneider, the editor-in-chief of Harper's Bazaar, shares her eagerness to replicate that success. Alongside Heidi Klum, Schneider evaluates the candidates' performances, assessing not only their work during the photoshoot but also their runway presentation of their purchased outfits.
The women kick off the presentations. Zoe dons a leopard top and jeans, which Klum finds reminiscent of her youth. Magdalena's outfit - hoodie and miniskirt - mirrors Klum's daughter Lou's school attire. Canel's selection - denim skirt and pink top - fails to impress Klum, who remarks that the look is too ordinary and resembles a supermarket grocery shopping outfit.
Moritz outshines the men. Although Jannik's attire - black suit, bow tie, no shirt - receives criticism for being a bit too risqué, Pierre and Eliob also fail to impress with their outfits, due to their lack of fitting suits and barefoot appearance, as Eliob ran out of shopping money.
Time to Say Goodbye
Canel and Eliob are sent packing, missing out on the finale. Klum justifies the decision, noting Canel's inconsistent performance throughout the shootings and Eliob's inability to secure any jobs. Despite her elimination, Canel remains hopeful for her future in the modeling industry, expressing her gratitude for the experiences and vowing to conquer the runways of the world. Eliob also expresses his gratitude and looks forward to the adventures that await.
The final six models vying for the GNTM crown in the live finale on June 19, 2025, are: Zoe, Magdalena, Daniela, Moritz, Pierre, and Jannik.
