Mobile Comedy Hub: Transformed Truck Serves as Comedy Stage
The Truck Theater is set to embark on a tour through Eastern Austria starting from late April, with the premiere scheduled for April 30 in Ybbs an der Donau. This unique and entertaining theater company, owned by St. Pölten transport entrepreneur Karl Gruber, will be performing the cult comedy "Pension Schöller" by Wilhelm Jacoby and Carl Laufs.
The performances will take place at over 30 open-air locations, including markets and meadows, providing a picturesque backdrop for the show. Some of the locations include Vienna, St. Pölten, and Frankenfels. The performances are free for the audience, making it an accessible and enjoyable experience for all.
The Truck Theater, known for its contemporary plays and sometimes including classical or comedy pieces, aims to create a lively atmosphere with its performances. Audience members are invited to bring their folding chairs and join in the fun.
The show, lasting for 80 minutes, is suitable for a warm summer evening. The performances will take place at various locations in May and June, with additional dates in July. For example, the performance in Wiener Neustadt will take place on July 1, and Fels am Wagram on July 2.
The tour is made possible by a strong alliance between the province of Lower Austria, AK Lower Austria, the chamber of commerce, and many sponsors. The director of the performances is Nicole Fendesack.
